2008 Releases
2006 Rockpile Zinfandel ~ Napa/Sonoma Magazine Article
2006 Rockpile Senal ~ Rockpile in the House! We would like to introduce the latest vintages from the appellation that Rocks! The Rockpile continues to dazzle with its unique terroir that imparts to both of these wines such vibrant character and depth--rarely found
in such youthful vines. We are delighted to introduce these wines a little earlier than usual. 2006 was a wonderful year in Sonoma County for grapes--a long growing season with stable weather and no wild heat or cold spikes.
2006 Rockpile Petite Sirah ~ How about a big shout out for a great addition to BEW's portfolio: Rockpile Petite Sirah. This wine, hailing from our new vinyards at the Rockpile, exhibits the well-know characteristics of the fabulous Rockpile terroir. This will always be a limited production wine, and at 50 cases this year, it would be wise to order now!
2006 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ~ We are proud to announce the release of our second vintage of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. This very small roduction features the best of two different vineyards in this Pinot loving appelation. Just under
100 cases were made, so do not hesitate to enjoy this stellar release.
2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ~ Our latest release and first for 2008 is our Obsidian and Taplin vineyards' presentation. 2005 was another great year to be a farmer in Napa with both great Quantity and Quality. The fruit bursts with dark flavors and the wine maintains the tradition of balance we strive for in all of our wines.
2005 Jazz ~ Just as even the great musicians need talented producers to nuture and focus their talents, wines achieve their greatness from many behind-the-scenes virtuoso performances. In Jazz, the first and foremost is the star-making terrior of the Napa Valley Obsidian, Aves, and CWG vineyards. The bloodlines of these vineyards and their fruit provide advantageous structure to the winemaking. This quality fruit enhances the blending artistry of the winemaker. The final shout-out goes to the executive producer: Mother Nature. Without her graceful attention the 2005 vintage would be nothing but noise. Her guiding hand is found in the dark fruits, hints of chocolate and vanilla flavors. Gary's hand is evident in the lush, deep, velvety fruit, balance, and all of the multifaceted aspects of well blended wines.
2006 Russian River Valley Chardonnay ~ Our 2005 effort with this wine was so successful that we have increased our allotment from the Foppoli Family Vineyard in the Russian River Valley appellation ~ the sole source for the fruit. Given the popularity of the first vintage, we did not deviate from the original production methods of making this wine entirely in stainless steel, left sur lie for 85-days, and no malolactic fermentation. A method that promotes the true nature of Chardonnay fruit--kiwi, green apples, pineapple and grapefruit flavors abound--the perfect every-day glass of wine.
2006 Napa Valley Petite Sirah ~ We are very excited about this release of our traditional "purple-tongue club" namesake. This wine is now a balanced blend of the wonderful Chiles Valley and our Obsidian Vineyard's Petite Sirah! The traditional bold structure is still evident, as well as the deep dark fruits and the intricate balance.
